Reflexology

Client Quotes: "I feel more energetic"

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural healing and relaxing technique based on the principle that the extremities of the body, hands and feet have reflex connections which correspond to every organ and gland of the body. The applications of pressure on special reflex points help restore balance within the body. Thus, relieving tension, improve circulation and responding natural function.
The theory of how reflexology works lags behind the practical effects. A generalized concept is that when we stimulate the reflex points, the body's natural energy works the nervous system, meridians and other mechanisms to clear any blockages, thus helping the corresponding zone to normalize.

HISTORY OF REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology came to North America about 80 years ago from Europe where it has been used for much longer. In 1976, the Reflexology Association of Canada was granted its non-profit Charter by the federal government and began to train members to help people across Canada with this gentle, natural and effective type of treatment. Reflexology is also known as zone therapy, spot therapy, reflex therapy and compression massage.

HOW OFTEN

Once every 48 hours for acute distress, this timing gives toxins released a chance to be eliminated by the body without too much stress. For condition of long standing (chronic), do a session once a week until you notice improvement. For optimum general good health and preventative measure, once every four to six weeks is recommended. The session length is about 40 minutes.
